Website Terms of Use
Last updated: 17 June 2026
1. About these terms
These Website Terms of Use explain the rules that apply when you visit, browse or submit information through the X Law website.
By using this website, you confirm that you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, you should not use the website.
This website is operated by X LAW LTD, trading as X Law.
X LAW LTD is a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 14358643. Its registered office is:
3 Hardman Street
Manchester
M3 3HF
United Kingdom
X Law is regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority under registration number F202200098.
In these terms, “X Law”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to X LAW LTD.
2. Information on this website
The information published on this website is provided for general information and educational purposes only.
Immigration law and Home Office policy can change frequently. Although we take reasonable steps to keep the website accurate and up to date, information may become outdated, incomplete or unsuitable for a person’s particular circumstances.
Nothing on this website should be treated as:
-
personalised immigration advice;
-
a formal assessment of your eligibility;
-
a guarantee that an application will succeed;
-
confirmation that a particular immigration route is suitable for you; or
-
a substitute for advice based on your individual circumstances and documents.
You should obtain appropriate advice before making an immigration application, withdrawing an application, relying on a deadline or taking any other significant action.
3. No adviser-client relationship
Visiting this website, downloading material, submitting an enquiry form, receiving an automated message or speaking to an initial enquiry assistant does not by itself create an adviser-client relationship between you and X Law.
X Law will only act for you after we have:
-
considered whether we can accept the matter;
-
completed any required identity, conflict and compliance checks;
-
confirmed the scope of our work in writing;
-
issued a Client Care Letter or other written service agreement; and
-
received your acceptance and any payment required under that agreement.
Until that process has been completed, you should not assume that X Law is acting for you or protecting any deadline on your behalf.
4. Enquiries submitted through the website
You must ensure that information submitted through our website is accurate and not misleading.
You should not submit false information, impersonate another person or use another person’s contact details without their authority.
An enquiry form is intended to help us understand the general nature of your matter. You should not upload or send passports, bank statements, medical records, detailed witness statements or other sensitive documents unless X Law has asked you to provide them through an approved secure method.
Submitting an enquiry does not guarantee that:
-
X Law will accept your matter;
-
an adviser will be available immediately;
-
your matter falls within our regulatory authorisation;
-
you are eligible for a particular immigration route; or
-
any legal or procedural deadline will be protected.
If your matter involves an urgent deadline, you should clearly tell us and seek immediate appropriate assistance.
5. Telephone, email, SMS and WhatsApp communications
Where you provide your contact details and request a response, X Law may contact you about your enquiry using the communication methods you have authorised.
Depending on the permissions you provide, this may include telephone, email, SMS or WhatsApp.
Where you separately consent, X Law may use an automated or AI-assisted voice system to:
-
acknowledge receipt of an enquiry;
-
collect preliminary information;
-
confirm contact details;
-
identify the general nature and urgency of a matter;
-
arrange an appointment; or
-
transfer a call to a member of staff.
An automated or AI-assisted system does not provide formal immigration advice and does not make the final decision about whether X Law can accept or advise on a matter.
Calls may be recorded or transcribed for enquiry handling, training, quality assurance, compliance and record-keeping purposes, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
You may ask to speak to a human member of staff or ask us to stop contacting you through a particular channel.
6. Appointments and consultations
Appointments are subject to availability and confirmation.
Submitting a booking request does not guarantee that an appointment has been accepted. You should check that you have received a confirmation email or message.
You are responsible for:
-
providing accurate booking information;
-
checking the date, time and time zone;
-
joining telephone or online meetings at the agreed time;
-
ensuring you have a suitable telephone or internet connection; and
-
notifying us as early as possible if you need to cancel or rearrange.
Any cancellation, rescheduling, refund or non-attendance conditions communicated during booking or set out in your Client Care Letter will also apply.
7. Fees and payments
Any prices or fee information shown on this website are general indications unless expressly stated otherwise.
The final fee for legal services may depend on the facts, complexity, urgency and scope of the matter.
Before commencing paid work, X Law will normally confirm the agreed scope and fees in writing.
Home Office fees, Immigration Health Surcharge payments, translation costs, expert fees, barrister fees, court or tribunal fees and other third-party expenses are not included unless expressly confirmed.
Where you make an online payment, you must use a payment method that you are authorised to use.
Payment does not by itself mean that X Law has accepted your matter unless we have also confirmed our instructions in writing.
8. Client Care Letter takes priority
If you formally instruct X Law, your Client Care Letter and any accompanying service terms will govern the legal services we provide.
If there is a conflict between these Website Terms of Use and an agreed Client Care Letter, the Client Care Letter will take priority in relation to the legal services covered by it.
9. Acceptable use
You must not use this website:
-
for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose;
-
to submit harmful, offensive, threatening or misleading material;
-
to attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, its servers or connected systems;
-
to introduce viruses, malware or other harmful technology;
-
to interfere with the operation or security of the website;
-
to scrape, copy or extract website content through automated means without permission; or
-
to misuse our forms, telephone numbers, email addresses or communication systems.
We may restrict or block access where we reasonably believe the website is being misused.
10. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the text, design, branding, graphics, videos, guides, downloads and other materials on this website belong to X Law or are used with permission.
You may view and print reasonable extracts for your own personal, non-commercial use.
You must not reproduce, republish, sell, license, modify, distribute or commercially exploit our content without prior written permission.
You must not use the X Law name, logo or branding in a way that suggests an association, endorsement or relationship that does not exist.
11. Downloads, guides and calculators
Any guide, checklist, booklet, calculator, template or downloadable resource is provided for general information only.
Such material may simplify legal requirements and may not cover every exception, evidential requirement or change in policy.
You should not rely on a download or calculator as a final assessment of your eligibility or prospects.
12. External websites and third-party services
Our website may contain links to government websites, booking systems, payment providers, social media platforms and other third-party services.
These links are provided for convenience and information. X Law does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their availability, security, content, privacy practices or terms.
A link to a third-party website does not necessarily mean that X Law approves or endorses all information or services available through it.
13. Website availability and security
We aim to keep the website available and secure, but we do not guarantee that it will always operate without interruption, delay or error.
We may suspend, withdraw, restrict or change all or part of the website for maintenance, security, operational or legal reasons.
You are responsible for using appropriate security measures when accessing the website, including keeping your devices, passwords and software secure.
Email, SMS, WhatsApp and ordinary online forms may not always be completely secure. Do not send highly sensitive documents unless we have provided an approved method.
14. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Subject to this, X Law is not responsible for loss arising solely from:
-
reliance on general website information without obtaining advice about your circumstances;
-
information that is inaccurate because the law, Immigration Rules or Home Office policy changed after publication;
-
interruption or unavailability of the website;
-
unauthorised access caused by matters outside our reasonable control;
-
third-party websites or services; or
-
information that you submitted inaccurately or incompletely.
Nothing in these terms affects any statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Privacy and cookies
Our use of personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Our website may also use cookies and similar technologies for essential operation, security, analytics, advertising and user experience purposes.
Where consent is legally required for non-essential cookies, you may accept, reject or manage them through the cookie controls made available on the website.
16. Complaints about legal services
If you become a client, information about raising a complaint will be provided in your Client Care Letter.
A complaint about legal advice or services should be made through X Law’s formal complaints procedure rather than through a general website enquiry form.
Questions about the website or technical problems may be sent to contact@xlaw.lawyer.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these Website Terms of Use to reflect changes in our services, technology, law, regulation or business practices.
The latest version will be published on this page with the updated date.
Your continued use of the website after changes are published will be subject to the revised terms.
18. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales will generally have jurisdiction over disputes relating to these terms. If you are acting as a consumer, this does not remove any mandatory rights you may have to bring proceedings in another part of the United Kingdom.
